Five years of Graphic Design and Photography study at University provided Becks with a rock solid set of technical skills, and the opportunity to start defining her signature, carefully crafted aesthetic. Armed with this magical skill set combo, Becks entered the world of styling, working at some of New Zealand’s leading retail advertising agencies on a diverse range of projects including television, digital and print campaigns.

It is here that she honed her eye for intricate detail, and developed an understanding of what it truly takes to bring a brand to life. Not all content is created equal – and if anyone knows this it’s Becks. Her deep knowledge of essential brand considerations, marketing strategies and design led thinking, combined with her graphic design and photography skills enable her make any brand she works with stand out, and visually break through the clutter to fully engage with the viewer.

In 2014 Becks struck out on her own and created Little White Lies, a full scope styling and photography studio. Little White Lies enables Becks to work directly with her clients to develop and execute bespoke visual solutions, either as a sole creator of image based content, or as part of a larger design team, collaborating with other independent creatives or agencies. It’s in both of these spaces that she thrives, and loves the energy and creativity that is generated from a hands-on approach.
